Project name: The Riviera at Radcliffe
Project location: Raleigh, N.C.
Square footage: 571 (kitchen only)
The objective for this classically designed European country manor house was to create a true gourmet kitchen that not only provided the space and convenience for entertaining, preparing and serving meals to large groups, but also remained conducive to a more intimate setting for a couple or small family gathering.
The kitchen has the feel of a smaller more quaint kitchen as it seems to be tucked away in its own corner of the house. No amenities were spared in this well-furnished almost commercial kitchen by Denmark Construction in Youngsville, N.C.
When plans were revised, it created the challenge of how to incorporate the columns and beams that appear to hold up the vaulted tray into the two separate bars in the main part of the kitchen. To solve this challenge, Denmark worked closely with the cabinet company, trim carpenters and sheetrock installers to ensure everyone understood the goal. The result was a design detail that created a warm and cozy kitchen for all to enjoy.
