The client wanted a large gourmet kitchen connected to the dining room as well as a bar and inside summer kitchen to serve the lanai dining area. The client also wanted to incorporate TVs into the bar for entertaining in the great room.

The challenge for Phil Kean Designs in Winter Park, Fla., was designing these dual kitchens so each could separately and completely support its desired function. The solution was to create two separate kitchens. The “his and her” solution was key. Her area developed into the larger, luxurious eat-in kitchen. It attaches to the wine cellar and dining room but is separated from the great room by a 600-gal. saltwater aquarium. His kitchen became the party kitchen, with a large bar that opens directly onto the great room and lanai. It is fully functioning and has all accessories found in any luxury kitchen.
