New tools

Hi readers…

Welcome to the new and improved blog. We hope to update this regularly with news, discussion, tips, ideas and more. And we hope that you feel comfortable enough to reply with your thoughts. While we’re at it, we’d like to point out that last week we started a group on LinkedIn for RD&B magazine readers. Check out the group on linkedin.com. It’s a great place for networking and discussion - as well as referrals from your peers. If you’re not familiar with this site, there’s a great blog on its homepage about the top 10 ways to utilize LinkedIn.

In addition to the group on LinkedIn, we’re in the process of fixing our RSS Feeds. By having this feature on our site, readers can use an RSS Reader to get notifications when content is posted on RDBmagazine.com  - almost as quickly as it’s posted. Google and Yahoo offer RSS Readers with great guides for those who aren’t familiar with RSS.

That’s the news for now - but we’ll be back soon.

Will you be creating a group we can join in linkedin? We have been with them for over a year and have gotten 136,900 connections. Would love to add another group and connections.

    Thanks, mddesignhomes.com

    Hi Mark-

Yes, we created a group on LinkedIn. The site is: http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/1249967. We hope to send out an e-blast soon to introduce the group to our readers and hopefully get that group rockin’ and rollin’.

Maureen, I hope you had a good Christmas and New Years.

My resolution this year was to follow up on networking projects not yet completed by the end of 2008, complete online advertising utilizing the internet, and redefining how our small business in “Home Design” (mddesignhomes.com) succeeds in 2009.

Let’s face it the economy has everyone so worried there is a fear to not spend money at all. Rightfully so with job losses, job insecurity and we can’t forget the fear of inflation. We hear the money will become easier for the public to get loans, but you need great credit (which by the way is the way it should have been from start). But we also need to quill the fear of the public, and all too often media looks at the glass as half empty, for sensationalism.

Anyway my first question for you is do you have a time frame for when your LinkedIn group will be accessible on LinkedIn’s web site?

Secondly, will your blog be a traditional blog where fresh material is updated on a regulated basis? On our website mddesignhomes.com, the blog gets fresh material updated periodically when I’m inspired.

Hope to see more down the road and let me know when your LinkedIn
